So... Diets

I know, when I started blogging here I was all "rah rah rah exercise" and not so much on the diet bandwagon. I try to eat well, but I don't believe in torturing myself over food.

Enter crashing fall.

Now, like it or not (mostly not), I am on the world's most ridiculous diet. I eat a minimum of three fruit smoothies a day. I'm all crazy-go-nuts on the dairy products, and I'm inhaling my potatoes. I think my only real carb intake right now is the occasion pasta when I'm tired of plant-y products.

And yes, it's vegetarian. I mean, people tell me you can put meat in a blender... but yeah... just sounds nasty and I'm not that desperate yet.

I do need to figure out how to make veggie smoothies. Any cool recipes floating around out there?

  1. I heard about your fall on someone's blog and meant to go look at yours to see what happened. I'm going now. The liquid diet must SUCK!

Potatoes are carbs, but you're still doing well if that and a little pasta is all you're doing. I'm a carb addict lol. I love pasta.

I'm going to go look at your blog now, because I'm curious about this crashing fall. I hope you're feeling better!

  2. Mmmm, veggie smoothies! Okay, I kid. I tend to be one of those people who gags at oddly textured food, so the thought of a veggie smoothie is rather stomach turning. Just out of curiosity, what's the advantage to eating something in pureed form versus au naturale?

  3. Kate--the advantage for me is that I actually can eat it (thanks, broken jaw). It also makes it easier to consume large amounts of fruit, I guess.

  4. Hi chickie!
Good luck with the dieting! I read your post and sympathized- I'm on the same program. Smaller portions, no burritos :(.
I did hire a personal trainer once a week- and straight from the horse's mouth- she said to eat just green veggies and protein. Obviously the protein will keep you full and the veggies are just good for you. Root veggies still have quite a few carbs and fruits have a bit of sugar.....but I'm of the mindset that if it's natural then it's good for you.
    Good luck!
